Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA): The volunteer who assumes this position oversees the child and volunteer protection program in the region in accordance with the AYSO Safe Haven program. The CVPA will see that every coach, assistant coach, referee and team parent have filled out and submitted a volunteer application form each year. Computer skills are needed for this job, since this person is responsible for entering and processing all volunteer applications in the eAYSO database. The CVPA will check references of new volunteers, and submit one copy of every Volunteer Application form to the National AYSO Safe Haven Coordinator. The CVPA is responsible for documenting and investigating complaints of misconduct by regional volunteers or players and making appropriate reports to the Board. Therefore, investigation and reporting skills are a plus. The CVPA is a voting member of the Regional Board of Directors and is expected to attend the monthly board meetings. The outgoing CVPA is willing to train the new Board member. Attendance at the annual 3-day AYSO Sectional meeting is recommended for specific CVPA training. |
