How do I determine my child’s age division or whether he/she is old enough to play AYSO soccer?
Try This (here) If I register my child for fall soccer and he doesn’t play, will he still be on the same team in the spring? No, if a child does not practice or play games with a team in the fall they will be taken off the roster to make room for someone who is playing. They will then need to be registered as a new player in the spring. If we decide not to play soccer, can I get a refund? As soon as a child is placed on a team, he or she is registered and paid for with National AYSO. Players withdrawing prior to June 15 of that year will be issued a refund less a handling fee. After June 15th, refunds will only be given if a child is injured or moves out of the area. Refund requests must be in writing and sent with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to AYSO, PO Box 516, Philomath, OR 97370. What is required to meet Scholarship Requirements? Scholarships are available to all who qualify for reduced lunch at their school. We would like a copy of the form you filled out for the school district, and if you do not have the form you can just submit the AYSO form and we will check with the school. You are still required to submit the $15 for different administrative costs and insurance. The season is about to start we have not heard from our coach. What do I do? Please do not panic! We will continue to assign players as positions become available and so will hold your child's registration until games begin. If we are unable to place your child on a team, you will receive a full refund. What else does my child need? You will need to supply the shin guards. In addition, you may want to obtain shoes, a soccer ball (size depends on age) and a water bottle. What do I get for the $55 registration cost? The registration fee includes: complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) supplemental accident insurance for practices and games, and about 42+ hours of soccer for most ages. How often are practices and games? Teams may begin practice on the first full week of September. The practice fields are located throughout our Corvallis / Philomath community. Practices are held once or twice a week (field and times to be determined by your child’s coach). Games will be on Saturdays. Games will be held at the fields behind Adams Elementary School. U6 Players? U6 (kindergarten) players do not practice so are not grouped by schools (practice zones). Players will arrive at least a ½ hour prior to their Saturday game to warm up with their team. Refund? Players we are unable to place will receive a full refund. Once we have placed your child on a team, NO REFUNDS will be issued. Team Meeting? The Region 149 Board will hold an all team meetings early to mid August. All players need to have at least one parent attend the meeting that corresponds to their division. More information will be posted at corvallisayso.org and in the letter mailed August 1st. If your child is added to a team after the Meetings, you will receive information regarding practices and volunteer assignment from your child's coach and team parent. If a child does not practice or play with their team they will be taken off the roster to make room for a child who can play and they will then need to register as a new player in the spring. Please Remember……… AYSO is a parent-based volunteer organization established to provide a positive experience for our children. Go to the games. Learn the rules. Be tolerant of the children’s coaches and referees mistakes. Above all, enjoy the time spent watching your child! To really enjoy the game of soccer, consider becoming a referee, coach, or assistant coach. We will provide you with all the training!!
