ASSISTANT REGISTRARThe Assistant Registrar shall assist the Regional Registrar as needed. The two will work closely in organizing open registration events, coordinating volunteers for registration events, working closely with Division Coordinators and Data Manager to keep accurate documentation of player placement. Computer skills, organization and patience are a must for this job. This Board member would not be a voting member of the Board but should attend monthly meetings. CHILD AND VOLUNTEER PROTECTION ADVOCATE (CVPA)The volunteer who assumes this position oversees the child and volunteer protection program in the region in accordance with the AYSO Safe Haven program. The CVPA will see that every coach, assistant coach, referee and team parent have filled out and submitted a volunteer application form each year. Computer skills are needed for this job, since this person is responsible for entering and processing all volunteer applications in the eAYSO database. The CVPA will check references of new volunteers, and submit one copy of every Volunteer Application form to the National AYSO Safe Haven Coordinator. The CVPA is responsible for documenting and investigating complaints of misconduct by regional volunteers or players and making appropriate reports to the Board. Therefore, investigation and reporting skills are a plus. The CVPA is a voting member of the Regional Board of Directors and is expected to attend the monthly board meetings. The outgoing CVPA is willing to train the new Board member. Attendance at the annual 3-day AYSO Sectional meeting is recommended for specific CVPA training. RISK MANAGEMENT / SAFETY DIRECTORThe Risk Management/Safety Director shall handle all reports of accidents and/or soccer accident insurance claims. They schedule volunteers for 2 hour shifts each Saturday at the field. This person is responsible for administering the AYSO Soccer Accident Insurance plan and liability insurance program for the Region. This Board member is a voting member of the Board and will attend monthly meetings. They will assist other Board members in special events such as registration. Email is a must. First aid certification is not necessary for this position. INDOOR SOCCER COORDINATORThe Indoor Soccer Coordinator shall be responsible for working as a liaison between the Regional Board of Directors and the Indoor Sports Park where AYSO players may play off-season soccer. The Coordinator will oversee the registration of players, scheduling of games, collecting of fees, coordinate referees and other duties as needed to provide a venue for the players. The same AYSO philosophy is followed for indoor with balanced teams, positive coaching, everybody plays, good sportsmanship and open registration. The busy time for indoor soccer is the three weeks before the fall season ends and the first week of the season. The indoor season usually begins the week after the fall outdoor season. The outgoing Indoor Soccer Coordinator will help the new coordinator with the logistics, making this a smooth transition for this new Board member. If no one steps forward, indoor soccer will not be played. ASSISTANT FIELDS COORDINATORThis volunteer will assist the Fields Coordinator and learn tasks needed to prepare the fields for the games and the 5-a-Side Jamboree. This volunteer should like the out-of-doors, does not need any soccer knowledge and would like to ease into the Fields Coordinator position. Monthly meetings are not required for this volunteer, but are encouraged to get a better understanding of the organization. DIVISION COORDINATORSCoordinators are needed at each division in order to manage balanced teams and identify coaches, referees or a contact person for each team. This volunteer works with a specific division (i.e. Boys U10) and networks with other division coordinators. Organization and attention to detail when working with lists of data is a must The busy times for this position are prior to Open Registration in September and February and in the early part of the summer when teams are formed for the following fall/spring. Monthly meetings are not required for this volunteer job.
