U06 Referee Information

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteer Equipment Provided

U06 Referees are provided a whistle and wrist lanyard. You can pick up the whistle and wrist lanyard on the first game day near the blue referee shed (see fields map for sheds location here).

Quick Details

  • Games are 3 vs. 3 and are scheduled at one time, so each team will show with 6 players, split them over two fields, and play both games at the same time.  U06 will have practices prior to games (see region rules).
  • Game are on fields G & J (here), your field is split into two.
  • Two referees should be arriving with each team, but only one center referee is needed per game.
  • Feel free to referee your own team/child. U06 Coaches can be game referees.
  • Who is refereeing what game is not scheduled, just show up, and sort it out with the other three potential referees that show.

U08 Referee Information

  • Referee Job Training Required (special U08 Official + U08 Coach class (see below)).

Volunteer Equipment Provided

U08 Referees are provided a whistle, wrist lanyard, and a jersey with patch. You can pick up the whistle, wrist lanyard, and jersey on the first game day near the blue referee shed (see fields map for sheds location here).

Quick Details

  • Games are 5 vs. 5 (see region rules).
  • Fields E-1, E-2, E-3,& E-4 (here).
  • No goal keepers, and no players consistently staying in the goal area.
  • Each team will supply Game Cards at game (see demo).
  • One referee per game.
    • No sideline referees needed, but feel free to recruit from the parents if wanted.
  • The home team provides the referee for the game.
    • No online scheduling for U08 games, home team needs to provide the referee (another volunteer with the requirements listed above can fill in).
  • Feel free to referee your own team/child. U08 Coaches can be game referees since they have same training requirements as referees.

U10 Referee Information

U10 Referees are provided with all equipment at training. Below are the needed items for games (all are supplied to new referees):

  • Referee Jersey
  • Black Shorts
  • Referee Socks
  • Card Wallet (yellow & red)
  • Whistle and Lanyard
  • Game Flip Coin
  • Game Day Help Card

You can pick up missing items on the first game day near the blue referee shed (see fields map for sheds location here).

Quick Details

  • Games are 7 vs. 7 (see region rules).
  • Fields A, C, & F (here).
  • Three referees per game, 2 Sideline/Assistant Referees (AR) & 1 Center Referee.
    • The preference is to not have a referee that is potentially biased. That said, if you believe you can be professional and as unbiased as possible, feel free to referee your own team/child.
    • Games are listed in Web Ref for scheduling (here).
    • If no center referee is available, AYSO reserves the right to cancel the game.
  • Each team will supply Game Cards at game (see demo).

  • Fields H, D, & B in Corvallis (here). These teams travel, sometimes referees are requested at away games.

    • The preference is to not have an AR that is potentially biased. That said, if you believe you can be professional and as unbiased as possible, feel free to AR your own team/child. Center Refereeing your own child's game is not allowed.
    • Corvallis games are listed in Web Ref for scheduling (here).
    • If no center referee is available, AYSO reserves the right to cancel the game.
  • Each team will supply Game Cards at game (see demo).

Classes Have Ended, we will have an Intermediate Class in November, and Advanced Class in December, contact Referee Admin for guidance or show at a Refresher to get instructions.
